Explanation in Plain English: When a user asks a question via the AI Application, the system first executes a RAG Pipeline. It converts the query into an Embedding, searches the Vector Database, and retrieves context. Alternatively, an Agent might intercept the request and plan to call external Tools.
Once the prompt is constructed, it is sent through a Model Gateway to an Inference Server. The inference server uses Continuous Batching to group it with other requests. The server allocates KV Cache memory to process the sequence. It runs the Prefill phase on the GPU to process the prompt, then runs the Decode phase token-by-token. Inside the GPU, the Transformer leverages Multi-Head Attention to understand the text, accelerated by Quantization and split across GPUs using Tensor Parallelism. Finally, the response flows back to the user.
